DERMAL FILLERS
Dermal fillers are gelatinous substances that are injected under the skin to restore lost volume, smooth wrinkles and expression lines, or improve facial contours, sequelae of the aging process.
Most fillers are fairly safe, but it is still advisable to require widely accepted/verified or FDA-cleared fillers, such as those made from hyaluronic acid, collagen, and calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres. Fillers are injected directly into the area to be treated, often after a topical numbing cream is applied. The effect is immediate and lasts for 2-18 months, depending on the type of product applied and the area treated.
RADIESSE®
RADIESSE® and RADIESSE® (+) are dermal fillers used to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds (the folds that extend from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth). RADIESSE® is also used to correct volume loss on the back of the hands.
